A-10 aircraft carriers to begin overhaul at Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan

The US Navy’s newest fleet of A-11 aircraft carriers is set to begin major overhaul at the Naval Air Station Yokosaka in Japan.

The carriers will be the latest US Navy aircraft carriers, built in response to the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

The ships are expected to enter service in 2019.

The Navy’s next aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford, is due to enter commission in 2020, and the next-generation USS John Paul Jones, which will be named after the late Capt. Paul “Pete” Jones, will be completed by 2022.
